 You Yangs (‘Wurdi Youang
 ’- ‘big mountain in the middle of a plain’)
 This ‘M’ bushwalk 
 of approximately 14 km through the traditional lands of the Wadawarrung pe
 ople features spectacular views to both the east and west of the You Yangs
  and passes through a variety of landscapes. Along with interesting rock f
 ormations\, diverse plant life and wedge tailed eagles\, you’ll see diff
 erent kinds of gum trees and the noxious weed Boneseed\, which has thrived
  after bushfires damaged more than 80% of the park in the 1980s and is an 
 ongoing environmental challenge.
 The walk comprises two loops\, the firs
 t with some steep up and down sections (200 m elevation gain) and views of
  the Bunjil geoglyph in the valley below\, and the second a walk through d
 ry rocky bushland\, also including a steep descent. A bit of rock hopping 
 is required in sections of the walk and poles are recommended for the stee
 p sections\, as the trail surface is eroded in parts and slippery when wet
 . Adequate sun protection and hat essential.
 There are toilets at the st
 art/end and at the mid-way point. Please arrange carpooling yourself once 
 the booking date closes. Carpool fee of $15.
 You Yangs Regional Park is 
 55 km south west of Melbourne.
 This walk is capped at 16 people.
 Meet 
 at 8.15 am at the Turntable carpark for 8.30 am start.
