 This walk has been CANCELL
 ED because of weather conditions
 This walk is a good medium walk of 16 k
 ms\, starting at Birds Land Reserve and exploring the upper section of Lys
 terfield Park. After walking along the Birds Land Lake\, we will loop in a
 nd around the park taking in its many twists and turns. There are four sho
 rt but steepish ups – each about 1-1.5 kms in distance and rising about 
 100 metres each. For balance\, there are four downs which are a little ste
 ep in parts for short sections. The terrain includes some easy unsealed tr
 acks\, some grassy and gravelly sections as well as small more rocky areas
 . Tracks may be muddy or slippery after rain.
 The longest climb is up to
  the Granite Rock Summit where we will be rewarded with views and lunch. A
 fter lunch there is one more hill to ‘conquer’ before we descend again
  to walk back along the lake to our cars.
 Along the way we will enjoy th
 e lovely reflections of the Birds Land Lake\, good views and if we are luc
 ky the odd kangaroo\, watching us\, watching them.
 At a steady pace\, we
  will be walking for about 4.5 hours plus mini-breaks\, morning tea and lu
 nch. We are not aiming to break any records.
 Good boots and walking pole
 s are strongly recommended.
 Meet at Birds Land Reserve Car Park at 8.45 
 am for a 9 am start. Please note\, that the entrance sign for Birds Land h
 as disappeared. Coming from Upwey along McNicholls Road\, as you approach 
 Birds Land\, there is a small car park on the right (outside of the park)\
 , Just past this\, on the right is the turn-off to Birds Land Reserve.

 nbsp\;As Birds Land can get very busy\, car-pooling is encouraged – plea
 se organise yourselves once bookings close. The passenger contribution is 
 $10 pp to be paid directly to the driver. If you have any difficulties wit
