SUMMARY:Lilydale to Mount Evelyn and return

 Join us to walk the first 
 section of the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail from Lilydale to Mount Eve
 rlyn. Look out for kangaroos\, bird life and spring wildflowers. The begin
 ning of this walk is quite exposed\; hence\, sun protection is highly reco
 mmended. There are a few cafes at Mount Evelyn for us to enjoy morning tea
 . We then follow the Mount Evelyn Aqueduct trail\, Olinda Creek Trail to L
 ilydale Lake. We have the choice of walking more distance around the Lake\
 , or enjoy some bird watching in the wetlands\, before returning to the st
 arting point\, Lilydale train station. Approximately 13 km.
 Meeting time
  and place: Meet at 8:45am for a 9:00am start at Lilydale train station ma
 in entrance on William St E. Toilet (single) is available at the waiting r
 oom.
 Public Transport: Train: Lilydale line 7:46am depart from Flinders 
 Street station\, arrive Lilydale station 8:44am. Trains depart from Flinde
 rs Street station every 30 minutes.
 Carparking available on both sides o
 f the old Lilydale train station.
 Carpooling fee: distance from GPO to O
 ld Lilydale Train station is 40km each way. Carpooling fee is $10 per pass
 enger. Please arrange carpooling yourself once the booking date closes.
