 This i
 s an adventure exploring the Long Plain area in Kosciuszko N.P. Northern P
 lains. After overnight at Tumut Motel\, on Sunday we will drive to Cooinbi
 l hut then take a horse trail and some off track to the Blue Waterholes ar
 ea to camp. On Monday\, after exploring 2 limestone caves for a short dist
 ance (200m) and visiting a waterfall in Clarke Gorge (requires 8 creek cro
 ssings)\, we will head off to Pockets hut to camp. For the next 3 days we 
 will tour around the area mostly on fire trails\, and walking tracks/ brum
 by trails but with some off track\, staying near various stockmans' and se
 ttlers' huts - Old Currango\, Millers and Hainsworth (huts are emergency u
 se only). Expect to see mobs of brumbies along the way. On Friday we will 
 walk off track back to Cooinbil hut and overnight in Tumut before driving 
 home. Daily distances of 14 to 16km on reasonably flat terrain with grasse
 s on the flats and sparse tree cover on the hills. Depending on the group 
 and the weather\, we may explore further. It’s an alpine area (1300m abo
 ve sea level) – a frost plain – so you need to be prepared to cope wit
 h very cold/wet conditions if a cold front comes through (we would use the
  huts). Please note that the route may need to change depending on conditi
 ons at the time.
 Costs are accommodation $133\, camping free\, carpoolin
 g amount between $120 - $160 depending on number in each car. Carpooling w
 ill be organised by the leader.
 This pack is suitable for backpackers wi
 th some experience who are pack fit. Please contact the leader if you have
  any questions or would like to book in for the pack. Preference was given
  to those who replied to an Expression of Interest notice last year
