SUMMARY:Navigation Practice Day 
DESCRIPTION:{show accesslevels=\"Registered\"}Want to consolidate or brush 
 up on your navigation skills?The day simulates scouting a walk but also in
 cludes revision of some navigation equipment use.&nbsp\; The Navigation Pr
 actice day will have two components. The first will be an exercise of plan
 ning a walk route given a couple of locations and a walk grading. The seco
 nd component will be walking an on-track route using map and compass while
  reading the terrain and maintaining an awareness of current location. The
 re will be a recap of basic compass and GPS use before setting off. Attend
 ees will be split into groups with each being accompanied by a mentor.&nbs
 p\; Members who have attended the club’s Leadership Training or Navigati
 on Training will have preference\, however any member who wishes to be a l
 eader or scout and has some map reading and compass experience is welcome.
  It will be held in Churchill State Park\, Rowville. Carpooling to be orga
 nised by participants. Passenger charge $10.
