Wander: We look forward to welcoming many “Wanderers” and \"Amblers\"
on this multi-grade day of walks at the Masons Falls area in Kinglake Wes
 t. Wanderers will soak up the beautiful bush on the perimeter of Masons Fa
lls where there is a large picnic ground with an abundance of seating unde
r cover. There are interesting interpretive signs covering the area’s hi
story\, the possibility of venturing to the viewing platform to the falls-
 around 1.4 kms return\, with some short\, steepish sections\, especially o
n the return journey. This walk is on a wide\, formed track. Sticks would
be useful for this option. There is a handrail for part of this walk. Ther
e are\, however\, a variety of lengths of trails meandering through the bu
sh around the area. All options will be executed at a Wander and Ambler pa
ce. If you are a Wanderer or Ambler\, please let Allison Towner know that
 you are coming (Mob: 0402 473 105) by 8.00pm on March 2.
 Easy walk: (NQW
) This 10km linear walk will take us first to the Masons Falls lookout and
we will then meander back along the Lyrebird track to Goodenia\, Boundary
and Wombat tracks before reaching Blackwood Picnic ground for morning tea
. There are no toilets here. We will then move on to the Sugarloaf Ridge t
rack and ultimately return to the picnic area. There are many trees over t
he track en route with foliage close by so long sleeves and trousers are a
dvised. The track is mostly flat but some exposed tree roots need to be ne
gotiated so take care. Afternoon tea will be shared at the Masons Falls ca
r park area with the Wanderers and Medium walkers. Please indicate in the
“Comments” section of the website if you plan to take the Easy walk.

Medium walk:&nbsp\;(QW) This 14.5 km walk will take us along the Running
Creek track which has a significant descent and loose gravel. Poles and bo
ots are recommended. The track winds its way to the summit of Mt Sugarloaf
with a long\, steep climb after morning tea. At the lookout on a clear da
y there are views of the city through the trees. Backtracking from the loo
kout for 900 metres\, the Sugarloaf Ridge track continues along the circui
t with scrubby bush and fallen trees until we reach the Blackwood Picnic A
rea. We return to the Masons Falls Picnic ground via Boundary Track where
afternoon tea will be shared. Please indicate in the “Comments” sectio
 n when signing in if you plan to take the Medium walk.&nbsp\;
