SUMMARY:Darebin Creek and Yarra River loop

 This Express walk of appro
 ximately 11 kms follows the lower reaches of the Darebin Creek until it fe
 eds into the Yarra River. We will then follow the Yarra River downstream t
 o the Fairfield Boathouse\, passing the Kew Billabong and Wurundjeri Spur 
 lookout along the way. To complete the loop\, we will return along the oth
 er side of the Yarra River to the site of the Old Alphington Swimming Pool
  and then back to our starting point through some quiet back streets. Most
  of the walk is on sealed paths with some dirt single track sections. Ther
 e are a few steepish ups and downs on sealed paths.
 We will meet at 9.15
 am on the north side of Alphington Station\, on Wingrove St. There is a tr
 ain leaving Flinders St Station at 8.40am on the Hurstbridge line\, arrivi
 ng at Alphington Station at 9.09am. For those preferring to drive\, there 
 is unrestricted parking in the station car park\, or at the northern end o
 f Yarana and Kelvin Rds. Toilets are available near the start of the walk 
 and also at morning tea near the Fairfield Boathouse. Lunch will be at Are
 a 52 café on Wingrove St opposite the station\, which has a nice courtyar
 d out the back. Please indicate in the Comment box of the booking form if
