 You are warmly invited to 
 join the vice president\, Leonie Elliss\, and myself for this annual event
 . This is a wonderful opportunity to gather together and enjoy some of the
  local highlights. Meet at Canterbury Gardens\, alongside the Canterbury R
 ailway Station\, at 8.30am. From there it is a very short walk for breakfa
 st at Chapter Three Café https://www.chapterthreemaling.com/ at 133/137 M
 aling Road\, Canterbury. If you prefer not to participate in the walk\, yo
 u are more than welcome to join us just for breakfast at the cafe. After b
 reakfast we will walk to the Maranoa Botanic Gardens in Balwyn. If you hav
 e not yet explored this garden\, it is well worth a visit https://www.boro
 ondara.vic.gov.au/explore-boroondara/parks-and-reserves/view-all-parks/mar
 anoa-botanic-gardens. The area also features some bushland in Beckett Park
 \, which is adjacent to Maranoa (toilets here). This makes for an interest
 ing location to explore. During our time at the Gardens\, we will have a b
 reak. Please bring along a snack or lunch to enjoy during this time. After
  our visit\, we will return to Canterbury Gardens via a different route. T
 he total distance covered during the walk is approximately 8 kilometres an
 d mostly quite flat. For those who would prefer\, there is the option to c
 atch the Whitehorse Road tram to get home. Some stretches of pavement are 
 involved in the walk\, but the beautiful Gardens make it worthwhile. The e
 vent is designed to be flexible\, allowing you to join for the walk\, brea
 kfast\, or both\, according to your preference. When booking\, please advi
 se whether you plan to attend breakfast\, so that I can make an accurate r
 eservation at the café. For those attending the event by car\, there is a
 mple parking available next to Canterbury Railway Station\, with access fr
 om Canterbury Road. If car-pooling\, passenger contribution is $5.00\, ple
