SUMMARY:Mt Evelyn Recreation Reserve and TramXpresso Cafe

 This 5.5km Wander follows 
 some bush lined streets. It is mainly flat walking along some paved paths\
 , some gravel roadway stretches with grassy undulations\, and a bushland t
 rack.
 The tall eucalypts beside us open out into a natural amphitheatre 
 bordered by the Olinda Creek where we can enjoy morning tea and lunch at t
 he many shaded picnic tables. Toilets and BBQ facilities are here\, too.

  We follow the track at the edge of the creek. Plenty of native birdlife w
 ere spotted on the scout. Including a thieving kookaburra! There is an opt
 ion to explore another track at the end of the reserve\, if so desired and
 /or shorten the return with a car shuttle.
 We return via TramXpresso Caf
 e in Mt Evelyn which we can enjoy for afternoon tea.

 796. There is plenty of parking available for those who wish to drive.

 o get there by public transport\, catch the 8.06am Lilydale train from Fli
 nders St station. Arrives 9.14am Lilydale\, which meets the 663 Bus to Bel
 grave. Departing 9.27am Bus Bay B - arrives Hawkins Rd/York Rd\, Mt Evelyn
  at 9.35am.
