 This Tuesday express walk 
 is around 12 kms\, an enjoyable route between two recently opened Metro Tu
 nnel train stations\, Arden and Parkville.
 This walk on mostly formed pa
 ths (some uneven dirt and grass tracks)\, will traverse the native grassla
 nd\, open woodland and wetland habitats of Royal Park. The replanting and 
 retention of indigenous vegetation is a feature of this large historic par
 k.
 Starting at Arden Station (once the site of a ‘Blue Lake’) we fol
 low some of North Melbourne’s prominent streets into Royal Park.
 The w
 alk will finish on Royal Parade near Parkville Station (also route 19 tram
 \, route 58 and 59 trams nearby on Flemington Road).
 For those that can\
 , we will stay for a coffee or light lunch at Dr Dax Kitchen.
 We will me
 et at the front of Arden Station on Laurens St side at 9:30am (services on
  the Cranbourne\, Pakenham and Sunbury lines run regularly through Arden s
 tation). Route 57 tram on Abbotsford Street is 5 min walk from the station
 . There are toilets in the station.
